Recently an article on the cost of building green came out. This article states that building green does not increase the cost of building. Of course this is if you start from the beginning, if you decide half way though the build that you want to get energy points, which help with taxes, then it may cost you more.
The problem with cost when it comes to green design is that many people want to do the latest and greatest thing, but if you come up with new ways to make it work and there cheaper, you save money. As this article I read stated “you should not ask what the cost will be, but how are you going to do this?”
I would appreciate your thoughts on this post, why not comment?

I’ve always firmly believed that if done right, building green not only saves you money in the long run, but can actually save you money from the start. Using recycled materials, such as bricks or decorative stone, for instance is often less expensive than new. And these materials are good insulaton, which cut energy costs and help the environment. Like you said, it’s all in the planning.
