Get Creative With Your Lighting

Lighting can be dramatic, simple or set a mood, but sometimes it can also just be a lot of fun and great to look at. I have gathered a collection of some really funky and stylish lamps that may just inspire you to take a look at your home design. Sometimes it’s amazing what you can come up with. I think my favorite one is the on bedrock lamp, it looks like a light on pillows!

Nice lights! I will have to keep these things in mind when I buy my first house. I hate normal, so having unique lighting fixtures sounds like a blast!
Lighting can make such a dramatic effect on a room. I am however switching to LED lighting because it’s so much cheaper and the bulbs last so much longer. They don’t always look as good though.
My dogs would be confused by that “lightbulb on a pillow”. That’s really cool
I love the light on the pillow! I enjoy low light except for reading. Then I need it very bright.
I finally got my mom to switch over to florescent lighting and now I’m working on getting her to LED. It’s so much better for your electric bill and the environment.
Lighting can make or break a room. The right accent lighting highlights things of visual interest. Task lighting makes the room functional! Have a great day.

I’ve lived in so many places that were lighting disasters! Our current living room is the perfect example of a lighting disaster! And I agree with you about the Bedrock Light, I thought it was on pillows too, such a neat looking lamp!

I’m living in a dorm right now where the lighting is horrible. It ruins my mood. Lighting is VERY important, I had to go out and buy a lamp.

i like low, soft light the best. i would much rather have table lamps on rather than the overhead light. and i thought the bedrock light was a light bulb on pillows too. too cool!

my problem with a lot of the clever designed lamps is that they don’t actually cast enough light to read by –and so just become energy wasting decorations….
I love lighting that’s unique and catchy, but still actually does what you want it to in terms of seeing better.
The hanging hats are pretty clever.

We switched to all LED lighting around a year ago, and the bulbs definitely last longer.
The curvy rope lamp looks interesting tho.

Hi cristle, I like the bedrock lamp too. At first I thought the “pillow” things are not exactly part of the lamp. LOL
But where would you suppose that lamp would go well in the house?

I think it would be cool in a guest bedroom, in a family room or a game room. Just because it’s different, but it really depends on what a persons taste is.
The Light on Pillows make a great Christmas gift!
Those hat lights look cool, but they probably get very dusty.

As someone who is fond of nice dim lights for a romantic feel i liked this post quite a lot.
I like incandescent lighting the best. I cannot stand it when people use florescent lighting in their homes. It drives me batty!
Your blog is cool! Mom can use all the help she can get when it comes to design! Lighting is the hardest thing to figure out and now we have some cool new stuff to check out!
