I have recently finished my interior design degree and and figuring out what way to go now. I have a cat, live with my mom, for now and enjoy spending some much needed time with friends.
I didn’t always want to be an interior designer, when I was younger I wanted to be an astronaut, a chef and a singer. As a teen I wanted to be a singer and a writer, now I’m a writer, but am hoping to find work in interior design or continue in school for my masters degree.
It wasn’t until I was 19 that I finally decided what I wanted to do with my life. I was helping a friend redecorate her home and she was so impressed she told me I should be a designer. Well, I picked up the phone and called a local school. I was accepted right over the phone as the person I talked with was that impressed with me. Unfortunately I couldn’t afford to go to that school and ended up waiting a few years and going to a community collage instead.
Good design is not something that can be taught, you have to have a love of it and an eye for color. That’s not saying you can’t design your home, you can since a home is something that you live in, you can do whatever you want with it, but after going to school I have realized that it takes a certain type of person to help others design and to create great interior design projects.
This blog is my way of helping you to get the information you need to create good design. That is why this blog is not full of pictures and has information about everything in your home, not just the decor.
