Do It Yourself Kitchen Design

I love when you can do some projects yourself. Now I know I’m an interior designer and I’m telling you to do something yourself. There are a few things that you can do, though some big projects I would recommend at least consulting a designer for. One is kitchen design, but with RTA cabinets (Ready to Assemble) you can do the instillation work yourself and save a lot of money.

I personally love the look of cherry and these Cherryville Cabinets are really very beautiful. I found this line at RTA Cabinet Store where they have a great selection of RTA kitchen cabinets.  What I love about this company is that they are a wholesale distributor so the products are cheaper and you could win $4000 in their kitchen renovation contest. That could just pay for some of that kitchen or a vacation after all the work you have done.  Another good reason to use this company is that they have worked with both HGTV and DIY networks so you know they are a company you can trust.

Kitchen cabinets are one of the best ways to update a kitchen and improve the value of your home. I would recommend that anyone looking for a cheap way to update check out RTA cabinets because they are easy to install and can really make your home look and feel amazing for a lot less.

5 Autumn Interior Design Trends

Autumn is on of my favorite seasons, it’s colorful, fun and it’s a time for families to start seeing each other more. Autumn is also a time for warm decor colors and timeless pieces.  Trends for Autumn this year are simple, elegant and a little fun too.

Simplicity: The big design trend is going simple. That means colors and classic, furniture does not require ornate anything and your rooms will feel better since simple also means uncluttered.

Classic pieces to accent: This means it’s time to bring out the old family heirlooms or take an antique or thrift store shopping trip. You want pieces that look old, worn or gently used.

Wallpaper: People love having a wall that is not just one color but they don’t want to put the time and energy into painting that wall. With new wallpaper technology it’s easier then ever to get the look you want with wallpaper

Area and Throw Rugs: Rugs warm a room without making a permanent change, this is why they are so popular. You can change out a rug very easily changing the look and feel of a room in seconds.

Art: Adding art and sculpture to your room really is a huge trend right now. People are home more and they want something nice to look at. You can buy great art online or you can create your own.

Change Your Room Easily With Artwork

I love having extra pictures and paintings on hand. They work wonders when you are bored with your rooms look and I also love changing them with the seasons. The best part about doing this is that it can really be inexpensive. Art is not always pricey, you can find some great deals online and get great art for very little cost.

One site I have found that has some amazing canvas art is Arts My Passion a really well laid out site that offers some art I have not seen in other place. I love the mix of contemporary and classic art that they have. The piece I have pictured caught my eye very quickly it’s a wonderful Contemporary Canvas Art piece that draws your eye right to it, yet the colors are neutral enough that it would work well in almost any space. I also love the look of the two separate images you can play around with this piece by either keeping it together or separating it to create two pieces of art.

Arts My Passion also has some great Abstract canvas Art and beautiful landscape art. Really there is something for everyone on this site. The hard part will be deciding what piece or pieces to order as I really don’t think you could choose just one and when you add that they ship free world wide you just can’t pass up this great art.

Proflowers Sago Palm Bonsai Review

Nothing completes a design more then a well placed plant or two. I love Bonsi plants because they are unique fun and can create a great talking point. Recently I was asked to review this Sago Palm Bonsi from Proflowers and I have to say I love it. It arrived quickly and was intact when I received it. I have had breaking problems with plants before because they were not packaged correctly, but this one was fine. It also was in great health I have received many plants that are almost dying when you get them and many times I’ve had to toss them after trying to revive them, but there were no problems with this plant. I was surprised though at how big it was, I expected something smaller, but it was a very pleasant surprise and I’m extremely happy with it.

Currently my Bonsi is placed in a window in our kitchen as we have covered our upstairs skylights to help keep the heat of summer out, but once summer is over it will be moved along with another plant upstairs to help decorate our hallway where we have niches to put them. I love using plants this way as it adds something to a bland hall. If you don’t have niches try hanging a plant or adding a shelf or table if there is room to your hall.

Check out Proflowers selection of plants, which one would you use in your home?

American Standard OutReach Lavatory Faucet Review

I received this product to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own unless otherwise stated.

I love finding fun new products to test out and this Out Reach lavatory faucet from American standard is really not only pretty, but useful as well. even if you don’t think you need one you find that you use the extension a lot more then you think. We put it in our main bath because my brother uses it to shave. Having the extension makes easy clean up of all that hair and keeps our bath clean for guest that may pop in.

Instillation is easy as long as you know how to install a faucet and it’s all assembled when you get it so there really is no assembly. I would really recommend this for anyone with small pets, or maybe someone who loves to do home hair cuts and needs the sink to wash hair. I also would recommend it for anyone with a disability as it makes washing hands easier, my nieces and nephew loved it!

What do you think about this type of faucet? Would you install one.
